I have a lot of these dolls. I just ordered kaya and I'm getting kaya next week in the mail. Can't wait! I think it's beyond generous to spend all that money on all those dolls and give them to charity. Good for you!

i (transmasc nb pls don’t misgender me @ random strangers on the interwebs) never got to own american girl dolls as a kid AND desperately wanted “american boys” to exist, and this video healed??? so much of me??? bc i never even tried to ask for one bc i saw the prices in the catalogue yk? and the kind of kid i was, i say $90 something bucks and went “oh absolutely not, mom and dad will do it for a game system bc electronics but no way in hell for this.” AND i found out that the reason i so rarely got american girl magazines is bc my mom would watch the mail like a hawk and when she could, would remove the magazines so i wouldn’t ask for them because they were too much. what’s UPSETTING is that upon my mother realizing how much i pinned and yearned and wanted an american girl doll once i was a teen way back when, she said “if i had known JUST how much you wanted one, of course idve gotten it for you! but that was kinda why i tried to keep you from knowing about them.” all this is to say, no i don’t have trauma but i have a lot of pent up feelings over never getting to have one. this video helped!!!
