I know that Scott Baio really hated being in this low-budget movie, doesn't even want to be associated with it, and did it only for the money but I liked it. It's a fun nostalgic movie that reminds me of when I graduated high school back in the late 70s. I remember the music, the style, roller skating, and the attitudes. Great times.. especially when compared to what the world is like today.
She certainly rocked a pair of suntan shaded pantyhose. I often wonder why her management did not pursue a commercial approach with that such as with Joyce DeWitt. Maureen could have taken in a lot of revenue on that.
Filming was underway by 8/1/79 and it was released on 10/19/79. The Hollywood Palladium was converted to a roller rink. Some 300 people were hired as extras, including 50 professional skaters. The film had a $3 million budget, with $300,000 of that going to lighting.
